sure does roses are the easiest plants to grow from cuttings if you dont have a rooting hormone it also works with honey.

ok last year i had my rose bush in a shaded area and all of the growth from that year died i moved them and they started new stems from out of the soil so can i just cut a little of the top stick it in root hormone plant it into the dirt and bam new rose bush???????????????

The groth out of the soil is the root stock and not a good looking rose.

As the Europeans moved west they found a mostly empty land because the plagues of Europe swept the land clear of people and left it open for settlement. Guess you could say that our diseases did most of the conquering of this land, and the carriers inherited it afterward.

My only suggestion is to examine your language (both Ms. Bohan and the author of the video description). “Advanced,” “primitive,” “beyond” – all of these terms are steeped in cultural meaning, conflating everything old with “simplicity,” i.e. backwardness, and everything new with “progress,” i.e. improvement. Hunter-gatherer lifestyles were, and are, rich in both complexity and value.

i agree with littlelumpos…. it’s my understanding from the history courses i took… that the hunter-gathering/horticulture are waaay less labor-intensive and healthier for the environment (i.e. better) than what most consider to be agriculture… i’m not saying anything negative about the tribes of the NW, only that a move toward full-on agriculture simply does not imply progress…

Yes it was, believe it or not. Knowing that I make films, my teacher gave myself and Jordan the option of writing a five page paper or making a film about what we learned in horticulture class.

We both got “A”s.

Do you grow the ones used in Chinese cooking as well? Wiki says some types of day lilies are toxic. So, since there are so many cultivars and hybrids and things, one would want to be sure to be using only the edible sort for the kitchen garden. They sell the dried flowers in Asian shops. I recall they are called “Golden Needles”. Nice video, and very restful, beautiful music.
